This is Brock Turner. He’s a rapist. Like many rapists, he’s not going to be punished for his crime.
If you haven’t heard, he’s a piece of shit from Stanford University who took an incapacitated, intoxicated, unconscious woman behind a dumpster and raped her after midnight on January 18, 2015. Two men caught him in the act, chased him down, called the police, and kept him there until the authorities showed up.
He should be in jail for ten years, but a delightful combination of wealth, position, and good old white skin got him off. He was charged with several felonies: One count of raping an unconscious person, one count of raping an intoxicated person, two counts of sexual penetration with a foreign object, and one count of assault while attempting to commit rape. This should all give him 14 years.
He’s getting 6 fucking months. He’ll likely only serve three.
The judge is cited saying:
“A prison sentence would have a severe impact on him" and that “I think he will not be a danger to others"
A prison sentence would severely impact a rapist. Okay so I guess that Brock raping that woman will have no impact on her, huh?
Please, take your time to read this heart-wrenching letter from Brock “A Rapist” Turner father, Dan “The Father and Defender of a Rapist” Turner:
Please note that Dan’s poor, poor son is suffering from anxiety and depression and barely eats all because of ‘20 minutes of action.’ Yeah. Raping an unconscious woman is ‘20 minutes of action.’
This is horrifying and disgusting. Do not let this man get away with raping someone.
Brock Turner, who attended Stanford University in California, is a rapist. He does not deserve special treatment, he does not deserve sympathy, he does not deserve leniency. He raped an unconscious woman behind a dumpster.
“You’re doing something and I’m staring at you and smiling like you’re the only thing in the universe until I see someone watching. And I wonder if they can tell you’re everything to me.”
— I want them to say, “you love her don’t you?” so I can say yes a thousand times // L.B. (via emptymidnights)
